Gal is a Canadian Folk Music Awards - CFMA 2025 nominee for best produced album of the year (titled "HOW ABOUT A KISS?"), three time winner of OMA Music Award in Toronto, earning 5 nominations in 2023, including Artist Of The Year 2023. He also holds a double title of semi-finalist in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, at the
International Songwriter Competition,

Gal George Gjurin has presented his original music LIVE in Canada, USA, Slovenia, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland, Croatia etc. He's known for his extensive touring in Europe and frequent working with orchestras.
Besides being a lead vocalist with 3 octave range he plays over 50 instruments. As a prolific songwriter, bandleader and music producer Gal has so far published 24 studio and live albums with his own original music, arrangements and lyrics, always supported by extensive touring, focused on European concert venues (concert halls - all sizes, theatres, auditoriums, sports halls, international festivals and various interesting great sounding outdoor venues), thus presenting original Canadian music and diverse and rich culture outside Canada's borders.
His music is a rich fusion of powerful songwriting, wide ranging baritone voice, tasteful and rich instrumentation and ingenious
mix of different genres of musical influences - such as
Canadiana & Americana, folk, jazz, pop, soul, grunge, blues, roots, rock, country, gospel, tango, bluegrass, traditional music, Latin American music, African ethno & World Music, electronic music, European classical music, orchestral and contemporary chamber music, freely improvised avantgarde music, music for big-bands and jazz combos, symphonic originals, music for kids & youth and choir music.
His work also includes working with seniors, youth, charity concerts, conducting and symphonic arranging, award winning original music for advertising, films and theatre, professional studio work, producing bands, solo artists and orchestras, mixing & mastering, concert touring, writing and publishing poetry, essays & prose, independent publishing and artist/artistic management. One of his outstanding touring achievements was a 2-year EU tour (2013–2015) with a full 80-piece symphonic orchestra, for which he’d written more than 5.500 pages of symphonic scores. For his work he’s received nominations and awards in the EU as well: Best original chanson composition award 2005 (European Broadcasting Union/RTV), Best composition in advertising 2019 (International SOF Festival), double National first prize for best Slovene literary work of the year 2000 (JSKD), a nomination for Best debut book of the year 2002 (International Book Fair; SLO/CD) etc.
His poetry has been translated into seven languages
and is found in all recent anthologies.
